About Me

My name is Dottie and I am a wife and mother of 2 children.  I chose to stay at home with my kids because of the importance I had placed on raising and taking part in their day to day lives.  We got by paycheck to paycheck but sometimes not.  What we learned was a great deal about sacrifice. 

As a mother at home barely making ends meet I would desperately search the internet for some way to make a few extra dollars.  I have to say I had not been successful in that endeavor.  In my spare time around driving my husband to and from work (both jobs) and my kids from school and sports and work (thank God their of age now to work) I found myself running again back to my computer looking for some last minute hope.  I found a website that I had frequently visited over the years that helped maintain some sanity in my frantic world, while continuing to look for a way to make money.

Then what I thankfully learned from many years of reading and searching was that I needed to step up and put that knowledge into action.  I had finally learned from the Life of Learning Foundation that knowledge without action was as good as nothing.  So I started to write down what I did know and then let the pen guide me into the unknown and to the answers.  I decided to change the way I thought because I knew that if I thought I couldn’t do something that I would be absolutely right.  I had to start thinking that I could, then everything became possible.  My vision for Spiritual Discoveries is to empower you and me to take control of our lives and learn to trust and enjoy the beauty in the world around us, through laughter and love.
